On Wednesday 5th June, we held a celebration of Maths and Times tables on Times tables Rock Stars day across the whole school! All the children and staff dressed up as rock stars; sporting wigs, sunglasses, tattoos and make up!

Foundation Stage and Year 1 children and staff came to school dressed as number blocks and participated in a range fun and practical maths-based activities. They made mega mazes, played number games and dominoes, completed a number hunt, practised their half and quarter fractions and listened to counting songs.

Year 2 played on TTRS for the first time, practising their tables and playing against their friends.

Year 3-6 completed different maths activities in their classes.

All the children in KS2 took part in a TTRS arena battle in their class to find the fastest person. These children then battled against the other winners from their year group in front of all of KS2 and year 2 in the afternoon. Children in years 2 - 6 also took part in a Battle of the Bands to see which class could collect the most TTRS points in the day.

Year 3 winner: Alex M.

Year 4 winner: Jimmy W.

Year 5 winner: Olivia K.

Year 6 winner: Jack A.

The day was a huge success and the joy on the children’s faces was a joy to behold.

Congratulations to all competition winners and to those children voted 'Best Dressed' in their class.
