The DfE have recently reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.” At John Bunyan British, Values are reinforced and promoted through our teaching and provision of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils and by using our Core Values, Code of Conduct and focus on pupil voice. Our eight Core Values were developed in conjunction with governors, staff, parents and most importantly our children. These Core Values are central to all we do and are intentionally woven into our curriculum. We aim for our children to be able to verbalise them and know what they mean.
Our Code of Conduct:
Be Fair, Be Kind, Be Respectful and Make Great Choices
Our Core Values:
Hope, Integrity, Justice, Courage, Respect, Compassion, Responsibility and Wisdom.
