Year 2 had a fantastic trip to The Discovery Centre! We took part in lots of different activities - pond dipping, catching bugs in a butterfly net, seesaw, finding bugs in the trees and Lunch! The rangers were fantastic and we found lots of different animals.

Our Reception children have been learning the story of The Hungry Caterpillar using Talk 4 Writing. It’s inspired them to look in the environment for caterpillars and butterflies; a trip to our forest area was perfect for this. Look at that tiny caterpillar!

Reception were very lucky to have a STEM session with Engineering for Kids. They learnt what a windsock is for, how it works and then they made their own. We took them to the playground so they could test them. What a brilliant experience!

Our recent Science Day was a fantastic celebration of curiosity, creativity and all things scientific. The day featured impressive science-themed costumes, thrilling experiments, and an unforgettable science show that had students buzzing with enthusiasm.

A major highlight was the thrilling science show hosted by The Royal Society, titled "Explosive Food!" This dynamic performance showcased fascinating experiments involving everyday food items. Children were captivated by jaw-dropping demonstrations.

Throughout the day, classrooms turned into mini-labs where children took part in hands-on experiments. These interactive sessions encouraged students to think critically, ask questions, and explore science in a fun and engaging way.

To finish the day, we invited families to join us for a special Community Show. With dramatic launches and powerful demonstrations, it was a brilliant way to bring everyone together and end the day with a bang - quite literally!

The day was a wonderful mix of learning and fun, leaving everyone inspired and more curious than ever about the world of science.

EYFS, KS1 and Larches class had the pleasure of watching 'The Tiny Magic Orchestra'
Through music and actions they took us on a journey to the mountain, the cave, the sea, in space and back down to planet Earth.
The children learnt about an orchestra and watched Charly, Sarah and Tom play the clarinet, ukulele, flute and harp.
Everyone was in awe of the performance and enjoyed joining in too.
We would like to thank 'The Tiny Magic Orchestra' for joining us.
